The year 2023 is ending, and so are some of the celebrities’ marriages and relationships. Well, some even ended first thing in the beginning of the year, like Kylie Jenner and Travis Scot who found themselves on the –off side of their on-again, off-again relationship in January. This year, celebrities have been announcing their separations, break ups and divorces left, right and center and here is a look back at the famous people that announced their split publicly in 2023.

TRAVIS SCOTT AND KYLIE JENNER – JANUARY 2023

‘The Kardashian’ star Kylie Jenner and her on-again off-again boyfriend of five years Travis Scott were reported to have split again with news breaking on 8th January. The couple spent Christmas apart with the beauty mogul spending it in Aspen with her two kids; daughter Stormi Webster and Son Aire Webster.

The source told US Weekly, “Kylie and Travis are off again, they were supposed to spend the holidays together, but she went to Aspen to be with her family and friends up there.” Adding that it wasn’t the first time that that happened between the couple, but despite the nature of their relationship being on-and-off, Kylie and Travis remain friends and great co-parents.

NOEL GALLAGHER AND SARA MACDONALD – JANUARY 2023

Noel and Sara met in 2000 and had been married since 2011 until January 2023 after allegedly “growing tired of each other.” They share two children Donovan and Sonny who according to a joint statement the estranged couple released, will remain their priority. In a May 2023 interview with Big Issue, Noel opening up about their separation for the first time said that “When you get to your mid 50’s you do come to some kind of crossroads in your life.” Adding that it is common for couples who have been married for a long time to go their separate ways when they hit their 50’s.

MAISIE WILLIAMS AND REUBEN SELBY – FEBRUARY 2023

While many people didn’t see it coming, unfortunately Maisie and Reuben weren’t to be, as Maisie took to Instagram to announce their split writing “Reuben and I decided to end our relationship, since we met five years ago, our connection always extended deeply into our shared, and separate, creative careers and it will continue to do so.”

The two have been together since 2018, went Instagram official with their relationship in early 2019 and later made multiple red carper attendances and fashion events together.

MADDIE ZIEGLER AND EDDIE BENJAMIN – FEBRUARY 2023

Maddie and Eddie were first seen holding hands in late 2019 and confirmed they were in a relationship in 2020 and often shared their relationship insights with the general public via TikTok. Sadly, a rep confirmed that the former lovebirds ended things quietly in February 2023.

CAMILA CABELLO AND AUSTIN KEVITCH – FEBRUARY 2023

Dating App Lox Club CEO Austin Kevitch and singer Camilla Cabello were first linked in June 2022, two months before they were photographed holding hands while on a stroll. The couple who are said to have met through a mutual friend was last seen together in public in November 2022 shortly after the singer was hosted on the Drew Barrymore show to talk about dating. In February 2023, the exclusive dating App sent a newsletter to its subscribers stating that “Austin is single again.” According to multiple outlets.

TAYLOR SWIFT AND JOE ALWYN – APRIL 2023

While it is unclear how and when the two met, it is thought that Joe Alwyn and the singer met at the 2016 Met Gala on May 2, and two months after that, they were caught by paparazzi in Nashville where they were allegedly meeting Taylor Swift’s parents. In the same month paparazzi caught them again in New York City leaving Taylor’s apartment. The following years featured the two lovebirds going on various dates, posting coordinating posts on Instagram and talking about one another in media.

In 2019, engagement rumors started to swirl when a source told US Weekly that, “Taylor’s friends are all talking about a proposal and hos she really wants to marry Joe. He is her dream guy.”

Swift joined Alwyn for 2019’s thanksgiving in London and the couple spent Christmas together. The following year, rumors made rounds that the two were talking about marriage, with the source telling US Weekly that “They have talked about their future and marriage,” and according to their coordinating pictures by then, they were rumored to be quarantining together through Corona Virus lockdown. On April 8, 2023, Entertainment Tonight reported that the couple had broken up a few weeks before, and that the breakup was amicable and “Nothing dramatic” according to their source. More outlets followed reporting about their split citing that Swift realized that they weren’t compatible because of their personality differences.

ARIANA GRANDE AND DALTON GOMEZ – JULY 2023

When the singer was seen without her wedding ring at Wimbledon in July 2023, TMZ reported that the couple were headed for a divorce. The couple who tied the knot on 15, May 2021 finalized their divorce on October 6, 2023 after two years of marriage.

BELLA HADID AND MARC KALMAN – JULY 2023

After being together for two years, Bella Hadid and Marc split amicably, according to a source who spoke to US Weekly, who later said that, “Bella was using that time to focus on bettering herself and they had just grown apart.” The source added that there was no bad blood between the two.

BRITNEY SPEARS AND SAM ASGHARI – AUGUST 2023

News of Sam Asghari and Britney Spears breaking up were first broke by TMZ on August 16 2023, citing that Sam filed for divorce from the singer because she had cheated on him. Sam sharing his own side of story, took it to his Instagram to write, “After 6 years of love and commitment to each other, my wife and I have decided to end our journey together.”

Sam Asghari met Britney Spears on the set of her “Slumber party” music video in 2016, and the two got married in a private ceremony at her LA mansion in June 2022.

PETE DAVIDSON AND CHASE SUI WONDERS – AUGUST 2023

The two actors who met on the set of bodies bodies bodies in 2022, dated for 9 months before calling it quits. Talking to Entertainment Tonight, a source said that they have broken up and, “Both of them are focusing on themselves.”

JOE JONAS AND SOPHIE TURNER – SEPTEMBER 2023

In September, news broke about the Jonas brother musician splitting with his wife Sophie Turner. The couple who have been married for four years released joint statements on their Instagram announcing their split.

IMAN SHUMPERT AND TEYANA TAYLOR – SEPTEMBER 2023

Teyana announced that she and Iman had terminated their ten year relationship and 7 year marriage via her Instagram. “Iman and I are separated and have been for a while.” She wrote, adding all of their efforts are on raising their two children and stressed on them remaining best friends.

JODIE TURNER-SMITH AND JOSHUA JACKSON – OCTOBER 2023

TMZ reported that Jodie filed for divorce from Joshua Jackson citing “Irreconcilable differences,” with a listed date for the separation being September 13, 2023. The actress is reportedly requesting for joint custody for their daughter Juno Rose Diana.

MAREN MORRIS AND RYAN HURD – OCTOBER 2023

Both singers met during songwriting sessions for Tim McGraw’s song “Last turn home” in 2013 and had been married for five years before Maren filed for divorce from Ryan citing “Irreconcilable differences.”
